DIN Rail Mount Miniature Circuit Breaker

The DIN Rail Mount Miniature Circuit Breaker is produced by PUGAO (Plannter Electric) factory, as the manufacturer and supplier in China, we have prodvided it in high quality to wholesalers all over the world. The internal core of this product consists of a thermal magnetic striker or an electronic striker unit.

Unlike single pole circuit breaker (1P) which only disconnects the fire wire, 2 Pole DIN Rail Mount Miniature Circuit Breaker will synchronously disconnect the fire wire and zero wire when tripping, avoiding the risk of electric shock due to the electrification of the zero wire, which is a higher safety factor. Therefore, it is especially suitable for applications that require complete protection against power failure, such as household air conditioners, water heaters, distribution main switches, small power equipment, and so on.

Why is the DIN Rail Design the Industry Standard?

1. Modularity and Flexibility

Much like building with blocks, you can mount multiple circuit breakers, residual current devices, contactors, or relays side-by-side on the rail.

If a circuit requires an additional branch, you simply need to insert a new breaker into an available space on the rail—without having to replace the entire distribution board.

2. Exceptional Installation Efficiency

For electricians, installing a DIN rail-mounted miniature circuit breaker takes mere seconds. Compared to traditional screw-fixed methods, installation time is reduced by over 80%.

3. Standardization and Interchangeability

By adhering to the IEC 60898 standard, PUGAO circuit breakers are dimensionally fully compatible with brands such as ABB, Schneider Electric, and Siemens. If you need to replace existing equipment, our products serve as direct replacements.

4. Heat Dissipation and Maintenance

Rail mounting suspends the circuit breakers, creating an air circulation gap behind them that facilitates effective heat dissipation.

For maintenance, you simply need to remove the specific device from the rail, eliminating the need to dismantle the entire cabinet enclosure.

DIN Rail Mounting vs. Fixed Mounting: What Is the Difference?

DIN Rail Mounting Fixed Installation
Installation Method Snap-on mounting on a 35mm DIN rail. Screws secured to the front/base panel
Installation Efficiency Fast (No complex tools required) Slower (requires drilling and screwing)
Maintenance and Replacement Convenient—can be easily detached and replaced at any time. It is inconvenient, as it requires removing screws.
Scalability Powerful and modularly combinable. Weak; difficult to adjust.
Stability Stable; suitable for standard power distribution systems. More secure, with better seismic resistance.
Application Scenarios Distribution Boxes, Distribution Cabinets, Residential/Commercial Systems Interiors of Industrial Equipment, Custom Equipment
Cost Lower overall costs (labor-saving) Installation costs are relatively high.

Scenarios for Selecting Rail Mounting: Rail mounting is the preferred choice for over 90% of circuit breaker applications.

● Standard distribution boxes or cabinets

● Situations requiring batch installation (engineering projects)

● Instances where future maintenance or expansion may be required

● Residential, commercial, and most industrial power distribution systems

Function

Overload protection: When the load current exceeds the rated value for a long time, the bimetal inside the MCB is bent by heat, triggering the mechanical mechanism to act and cut off the circuit, preventing the line from overheating and causing fire.

Short-circuit protection: When a short-circuit occurs in the line and the current surges instantly, the electromagnetic striker quickly generates a strong magnetic force and pushes the linkage mechanism to disconnect the contacts, realizing millisecond tripping.

Complete isolation: During maintenance or overhaul, manual operation of the circuit breaker can simultaneously disconnect the fire line and zero line, ensuring that the equipment is not electrified and safeguarding the safety of operators.

Dual monitoring: This DIN Rail Mount Miniature Circuit Breaker can monitor the current status of the fire line and zero line in real time, and execute the protection action immediately once there is any abnormality in either line.

How to Properly Install a DIN Rail-Mounted Circuit Breaker?

Included with your product delivery, PUGAO provides a comprehensive installation and maintenance guide; should you encounter any issues, please feel free to contact our after-sales technical support team. As the DIN rail design simplifies the installation process, we can also offer recommendations based on standard installation practices.

Step 1: Disconnect the Power Supply

Before performing any operations, it is imperative to cut off the main power supply to the distribution box. Use a multimeter or voltage tester to check the incoming terminals; proceed with work only after confirming that no voltage is present. We recommend wearing insulated gloves and safety goggles.

Step 2: Inspect the Installation Environment

Verify that a standard 35mm DIN rail is installed within the distribution box. Ensure there is sufficient clearance to facilitate heat dissipation and future maintenance, and confirm that the rail is securely fastened without any looseness.

Step 3: Mount the Circuit Breaker onto the Rail

Align the upper clip of the circuit breaker with the DIN rail, then press downward until the bottom clip automatically locks into place. The device must be securely fixed and free of any wobbling.

The modular design allows for the side-by-side installation of multiple circuit breakers.

Step 4: Connect Power and Load Lines

The standard wiring configuration involves connecting the power input to the upper terminals and the load output to the lower terminals. Use wires that meet the specified current rating (e.g., for a 32A breaker, a wire cross-section of ≥4mm² is recommended). Tighten the terminal screws firmly to prevent loose connections or overheating.

Step 5: Verify Wiring and Installation Status

Confirm that all wiring connections are secure and that no bare wires are exposed. Check the polarity and phase sequence—this is particularly critical for three-phase systems. Ensure that the circuit breaker switch is in the "OFF" (disconnected) position.

Step 6: Power-On Testing

After restoring the main power supply, switch the circuit breaker to the "ON" position to test for proper operation. Check for any abnormal noises, signs of overheating, or unexpected tripping.
