Common Troubleshooting and Solutions

1. Frequent Unexplained Circuit Breaker Tripping

Possible Causes: Overload or excessively high ambient temperature.

The total power of the appliances connected to the line exceeds the circuit breaker's rated value, or the circuit breaker has been operating in a closed, high-temperature distribution box for a long time, causing the thermal protection metal plate to trip prematurely.

Solution: Please check the line load. We recommend upgrading to a higher rated current and ensuring the wire diameter is compatible.

If environmental factors are the cause, we recommend improving the ventilation of the distribution box. PUGAO products are designed with temperature rise in mind. If the environment is extreme, please contact us for appropriate adaptation adjustments during the selection and solution development stage.

2. Overheating or Burning Odor at Terminals

Possible Causes: Loose crimping or incorrect wire diameter.

Loose screws increase contact resistance; thin wires cause high temperatures at the connection point under high current. Both of these situations can lead to problems.

Solution: Immediately disconnect the power, check and retighten the wiring screws. Our products use thickened tunnel-type terminals with a high designed torque; we recommend using a professional insulated screwdriver to tighten to the standard value. Ensure the wire is fully inserted into the terminal hole with no exposed wire core.

3. Handle cannot be closed, cannot be moved up

Possible causes: Persistent short circuit or mechanism lock-up.

A short circuit still exists in the circuit. The magnetic trip mechanism is forcibly refusing to close for safety, or the internal arc-extinguishing chamber may be damaged by a large current surge.

Solution: Do not force the circuit to close in this situation! First, check for short circuits in downstream appliances or damage to the wiring.

If the circuit still cannot be closed after ruling out external faults, the 1P AC circuit breaker has completed its protective mission. To further confirm the product's condition, replacement may be necessary. Contact Planner.

4. Downstream equipment has no power after closing the switch

Possible causes: Incorrect wiring or internal mechanism failure.

Incoming and outgoing lines are reversed, or the wire clamp is on the insulation; although the handle is in the ON position, the internal contacts are not closed.

Solution: Use a multimeter to measure the voltage at the outgoing terminals and check if the wire clamp is pressing on the wire insulation.
